ImplementationThe DeMark Indicators® are not systems. As such, their use can vary from user to user. Many apply the indicators to identify markets that are likely to commence a new trend or reverse an existing one. Others use the absence of a confirmed indicator reading to highlight trends that are likely to continue. Some use the indicators to affirm the timing of their own research. While Market Studies offers a blueprint by which one can utilize the work, users are able to tailor the DeMark Indicators to suit their specific needs and investment styles. The beauty of DeMark® is that the studies do not require traders or investors to abandon their existing approaches. Rather, the indicators can serve to supplement and enhance that analysis. By revealing areas of potential strength and weakness inherent in the market, the DeMark Indicators can often assist in timing and sizing positions more effectively. Their global application regardless of the asset, time frame or data under analysis can provide actionable information without the need for optimization. Furthermore, combining multiple DeMark Indicators and time frames allows users to obtain a more thorough view of the market. While our work is well known for being contra-trend in nature, by no means are we suggesting that traders or investors fight the trend. After all, we look to capitalize on market trends whenever and wherever possible. The DeMark Indicators are intended to identify patterns that appear consistent with trend formation and termination. Doing so allows users to time their trading and investment decisions and seize new opportunities as they arise. In our opinion, the market timing capabilities of the DeMark Indicators, coupled with sound money management and trading discipline, can improve one's prospect of trading success. |
