HIGHLIGHTS


The U.S. Market for Toys, Games, Dolls, & Children's Vehicles strengthens in the second half of 2004 following disappointing results earlier in the year with traditional toys outpacing electronic game shipments. The doll & stuffed toy category stages a comeback after four years of declining sales.

Toy imports from China will reach $12.6 billion by year-end, more than doubling in value since 1996, as it captures 74% of the U.S. market.

Exports from the U.S. rebound 9.9% in 2003 to $1.4 billion driven by strong demand for games while all other categories continue to exhibit declining volume. Sales to Canada, the number one customer of U.S. toy exporters, rise an estimated 16% in 2003.
